Tree Marking

This service provides the landowner with a steady income from their forest while protecting its long term sustainability and quality. Licensed "Tree Markers" assess every tree within the woodlot using sound silvicultural principles.

Aggressive Advertising of Timber to Log Buyers and Fuelwood Operators

Woodland Resource Management Consultants will check the references of log buyers and logging contractors. We prepare contracts that meet our clients needs. We ensure that all contracts, county cutting permits, and the Workman's Compensation Boards' clearances are in place.

Harvest Supervision/Project Management

Because many landowners have busy schedules and are not able to be on site during the harvesting process, Woodland Resource Management Consultants, will provide complete harvesting supervision.

Proper harvest supervision is necessary to protect against unmarked trees being removed, the crossing of sensitive waterways, and to prevent damage to the site, or remaining trees.  We plan, monitor and report on the entire harvesting operation.

Assessment of Need for Windbreaks

The installation of proper windbreaks, will keep your buildings warmer in winter and lane-ways free of drifting snow. Proper windbreaks on farm properties will allow livestock to maintain weight through out the seasons. Woodland Resource Management Consultants can plan and establish your windbreak(s) using attractive tree species.

Stand Improvements

Woodland Resource Management Consultants can improve your plantation by creating trails or road corridors. We can also remove non-native tree species, correct form and spacing problems and eliminate deceased stems.

Pruning

Pruning is the removal of live or dead branches from standing coniferous trees to produce knot-free lumber or veneer. Plantations are unlikely to produce much clear lumber without  pruning. Our service involves inspection and pruning of the central leader and lower limbs in plantations less than 15 years old.  Live branches are removed from the lower one-third of the tree and problems with form are corrected.  In plantations greater than 15 years old, dead branches are removed from potential crop trees to the 17 foot level.

Woodland Resource Management Consultants will prepare a complete business plan for   landowners who are interested in earning an income from their property. We investigate new and established business opportunities and ensure that they meet the clients needs and are achievable.

Trail Design and Installation

Woodland Resource Management Consultants assess the need for trails on your property. The trails are designed to meet the needs of the user(s). We will plan, engineer and install natural grass surface trails and trails with a surface of woodchips. We also install granular stone and boardwalk pathways.
